Nets is a full featured, extensible source code
network inventory and management system. It provides features that
allow the managers and administrators of computer networks to find
and maintain information critical to the efficient and cost-effective
administration of their network.
The Nets graphical user interface runs on any Unix or Microsoft Windows
system, and works with almost any free or commercial SQL database as
the back end. Supported databases include Oracle, Sybase, Informix, Microsoft
SQL 6.5 and 7.0, MySQL, PostgreSQL and others.
Nets source code provides an open and extensible system for expanding
and extending Nets to suit unique site-specific needs. A plugin API and
execution hooks allow you to get control with your code during Nets operation.
The full source database schema and user interface definitions allow
easy addition of customer-specific information to the database.
Nets enables network administrators to build drawings and schematics
of the network, and to drill down to discover important details about
the network. Nets allows you to describe the Devices, Interfaces and
Network links that comprise your network, and to visualise the complete
set of IP addresses used in your network.
Nets brings benefits including portability - allows
Nets to run in most organisations without the need for additional hardware,
and runs
with most existing or
new SQL databases.
Flexible licensing and optional support contracts allows Nets purchasers
to tailor costs to their needs. Supports small and large networks. Flexibility
and extensibility allows organisations to meet their unique management
needs.
