Can you identify this old AWA receiver?
I recently bought this receiver at a tender centre, but I have not been
able to identify it. Perhaps you can? Any information is welcome at mikem@open.com.au
It appears to be mostly complete, down to the little silk bags of
dessicant, but unfortunately, the previous owner started a
'restoration', and all the identifying plates and dial scale are absent.
Fortunately, the inside seems not to have been interfered with.
It appears to be an Australian Marine 2 band, 5 valve, AC receiver.
There is an AWA sticker on the top of the transformer, and an AWA
inspectors stamp on the chassis.
The valve complement is:
- 1M5G RF
- 1C7G Converter
- 1M5G IF
- 1K7G Detector
- 1L5G Audio
Date stamps on some of the can condensers are 1945 and 1946
