The Features of Lawful Interception

The complete LI system is tightly integrated with Radiator and provides RADIUS-based triggering, traffic interception, mediation and warrant management in a highly scalable and secure design.

Triggering Zone
Radiator RADIUS server(s) monitor and scan all requests for the authentication of a target service. This triggers the interception and collection of session related data. Username, calling line identifier (CLID), IP address or other RADIUS attributes can be used to identify a target service.

Traffic Interceptors
Traffic Interceptors like sniffers and probes, filter and capture packets from an Ethernet network. They are able to acquire target traffic from within a 10/100BaseT or Gigabit Ethernet connection. Able to be installed in geographically disperse locations (remote and local pops), target IP content is captured, cached, and forwarded to a central Mediation Platform.

Mediation Platform
Regulating the workflow of the entire system, the Mediation Platform executes a Warrant exactly within its parameters. Controlling the activities of Radiator and the Traffic Interceptors, captured target content is stored, formatted, encrypted and automatically forwarded to the appropriate LEA within minutes of acquisition. The mediation also provides the Warrant Management Application that is used to manage the warrants that it serves.

Warrant Management Services
Providing a fully functional secure web site, users and administrators can easily manage and monitor Warrants, logs and the other components of the LI solution.

Scalability
Modular by design and built using Java and C++, the LI solution easily scales. The software is designed to operate on the BSD, Solaris, OSX and Linux operating systems.

Security
Multiple layers of security are implemented to protect sensitive management and intercepted information. All servers and components are strengthened against attack and can only be accessed by authorised staff using secure communications protocols.

All maintenance user activities are fully logged and controlled. Audit trails are designed to meet the harshest investigations and can only be accessed upon request. All sensitive data is encrypted and target service content is only stored for the time needed to transfer it to an LEA monitoring centre.
